Almost There.

I am a few rows of decreases away from finishing my holiday "elfing"... and I'm exhausted. 

I love making our gifts, I love making things for other people... I love the time that goes into it, I love the reflections and thoughts that come up about the people you are making things for. I love the handmade. I'm very lucky to be able to spend the time, to have the time to craft and sew and knit for my family and friends. I started really crafting and making when I first began my "at home life" with wee babies. It gave me something productive to do while spending so much time at home. Now I can't imagine living without making things. I truly treasure these years that I get to be at home with my kids doing the things that I love.

I love you. You are my daughter, my first born child. I grew you in my belly and loved you every minute you have been here with me.

You astound me. Astonish me. Take my breath away. Make my heart swell. Bring laughter from my belly and draw tears from my eyes. You are the most magical creature I have ever met.

I do everything for you, and I would again and again. I love you, daughter of mine.

ThankFul.

I have a lot to be Thankful for this holiday weekend. I got to spend the day cozied up inside and out of the downpour, playing with my kids and even getting some good knitting in. I got to spend the evening with my friends, a community of families ever-growing and ever-loving. I've got an amazing family with bright, spirited kids and a husband who supports and encourages me in everything I do. I'm baking (slightly burning) pies and pumpkin bread and planning a trip to see my parents tomorrow. I am thankful for all of these things, all of the friends and family I have around me, and the quality of my life. I can only hope to always be this lucky in my life.
